Better late than never, right? Between the crazy fall season & the holiday season, I got a little behind, But I still wanted to share Jessica & McGhee’s wedding day with you on the blog!
The end of October gave the McGhee’s a blessedly warm afternoon to have the most quaint repurposed barn wedding that I loved shooting. Outdoor events in particular are always precious because I adore the lighting and nature present in every shot. And Y’all, does Valley View Venue in Parrotsville have some beautiful mountain views peeking through the trees onto Jonathon and Jessica’s sweet outdoor ceremony and barn reception. The rolling hills and rustic decor of every barn wood inch of this venue made for the perfect setting for the McGhee’s to have an incredible wedding. The delicious taco bar at the reception that followed in the barn was super great too! The reception was an absolute BLAST and every single person there who enjoyed the touching ceremony then had the time of their lives dancing at the reception.
Jessica and Jonathon (everyone calls him McGhee) are seriously such a sweet & fun loving couple that I enjoyed working with! The groomsmen maybe had the most fun roughhousing and lifting their friend Jonathon up on his special day. They all looked very dapper in their grey suits and bowties from Trinkets & Treasures Formal Wear. The bridal party had a blast getting read at the barn with towering rafters trailing white veils and lights in every corner. They all wore silk robes as they were glammed up by stylists Kaitlyn Reed and Isabella Simmons and had a positive attitude that definitely helped calm some of the nervous energy on this most special day. Jessica’s beautiful bridesmaids were so very kind and supportive of their friend as they put on their stunning burgundy dresses and helped the bride into her GORGEOUS dress from my all time favorite shops, White Lace and Promises. Whenever I hear that a bride has chosen that Knoxville based dress shop, I know the ceremony will feature an elegant bride on the happiest day of her life. Jessica’s dress had plenty of delicate lace floral applique and white tulle that so perfectly complimented her elegant bouquet of multiple colored roses and orchids.
I shot McGhee and Jessica’s engagement session earlier this year and have been looking forward to this wedding ever since. I knew that their wedding day would be perfection down to the last detail because of their strong passion and devotion to one another. They chose to show this devotion and unity to each other in a lovely sand ceremony that I am sure they will cherish for years to come. I love the personal touches that couples choose like this and am honored to be able to share in the moment with them and photograph those precious memories.
Thank you both again for choosing me to capture these moments for you 💕
XOXO,
Alissa
