I met my adorable couple for the first time on their wedding day. Lynnsey and Coleman were married on a hot but beautiful, July day at the Cherokee Creek Farm in Jonesborough, Tennessee. For anyone who is not familiar with Cherokee Creek Farm, let me tell you a bit about this lovely country chic venue! Cherokee Creek Farm is located in the oldest town in Tennessee, which is full of rich history. The original Farmhouse, which is still located on the property, has been transformed to provide guests with a deluxe, boutique-style overnight accommodations, a luxurious bridal suite, and numerous outdoor entertainment areas; was originally constructed in 1830 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The owners, Don and Angie Lemmon re-purposed the original Smoke House to add additional charm to Cherokee Creek Farm. Not only does the property boast these beautiful historic buildings, but the newer construction hemlock Creekside Barn adds that country chic vibe that so many are looking for. Add in beautifully manicured lawns, majestic oak trees, and sprawling rolling hills, and there is honestly no shortage of places to take stunning portraits. It is EASILY one of my top 3 venues to shoot at in our area!
Lynnsey and Coleman’s time with me was unique in that I was only with them for a short period of time. This adorable couple had their reception at a different location, so I was only with them to capture those precious moments that every couple loves on their wedding day.
Lynnsey and Coleman had such an ease in front of the camera; despite the fact that the groom HATES his picture taken! You honestly would have never known it based on how effortlessly these two posed. But what I love the most is how the love they share for each other, just flowed between them. Each photo radiates with their love. From the way Colemen always seems to be touching Lynnsey, almost in a protective but loving manner, to the sweet kisses they gave each other, to the smiles that lit-up their faces, you can just see the love they have for each other. Honestly, their love is truly something special!
For me though, one element of Lynnsey and Coleman’s wedding that was truly heartfelt was their foot washing ceremony. This element of their wedding was something that was extremely important and special to them, as it is a symbol showing that neither is above the other. I was so honored to be a part of this intimate moment and to capture an element that was so important to both.
Lynnsey and Coleman, thank you so much for letting me be a part of this special time in your lives! I am so thankful that you trusted me to capture these beautiful moments that I know you will treasure for a lifetime. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two! Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Higgins!
XOXO,
Alissa
